I Love Mondays
And new seasons. And fresh starts.
I love Mondays. So when the doctor’s office asked if Monday, September 22 would work for a very minor procedure, it was an easy “yes.”
It was a quiet little divorce, between me and a mole I’d had on my ear since childhood. We’d both grown over the years, and were no longer compatible. Everyone consulted agreed it was time to say goodbye.
I left the hospital full of gratitude, and proud of myself!
My vivid imagination is rarely at rest.
This gift can take me to almost any scenario, day or night. It was invaluable in my corporate life while designing and contingency planning—I’d regularly lose sleep, dreaming up more scenarios.
Since then, I’ve made a different kind of progress: now I can better recognize when it moves me toward anxiety—especially on Mondays.
Yesterday, I chose to imagine everything going smoothly. And it did.
Easy parking. No line at registration. Kind staff, a warm blanket, even music playing in the background. I took a few deep breaths, enjoyed my book, and let myself relax.
When the doctor and nurses arrived, they brought a friendly, light energy with them. It was magnetic. I chose to join them.
We joked, talked about 80’s music and big hair, and then it was done, and I was on my way.
What struck me most as I walked out was the energy of these talented people doing work they love. Their joy created an ease for everyone around them.
So much so, that after leaving the hospital I went to a cafe to celebrate my “divorce” (and myself) with a gorgeous piece of cake, savouring the new season and my fresh start.
I am grateful. I don’t take for granted how fortunate I am, to live in a time and place where this kind of care and experience is available to me. 🙏
And I’m proud of the progress I’ve made. Yesterday, I chose calm and trust as a form of self-love. I was, in my own words, “myselfish.”
Live life now. Love more in your life, about your life, and yourself.
Fear less. Every day can be a chance for a fresh start. Take time to notice the little clues that make today—and every day—the best day of your life.
Love living,
Michelle
What I Wonder About
Imagine a world where everyone works at what they love.
Another Fresh Start
Last Friday I led a Rebel Escape with the theme of Intuition & Alchemy.
I loved creating it. It was a beautiful day to tune in to our inner knowing, and create more clarity about what we desire for the next six months.
So when the opportunity arose to consider offering it again, it was another easy “yes” for me!
If you are ready for a pause, a reset, a full day with joy as the assignment.
If you long to reconnect with your inner wisdom and creative soul…
We’d love for you to join us in person on Friday, October 3, in Regina, Saskatchewan.
Make this month a “RE” month with a Rebel Escape 😉
